AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Sep 26 (TIWN): Communist, social activist, wife of former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Panchali Bhattacharjee while reacting over the brutal gang-rape incident in Agartala said, rape has become a common incident in Tripura but this incident is just “unbelievable”.

“Such an incident on the heart of Agartala city raises finger at the law and order condition of the state. All democratic women organizations should come forward to raise voice and ensure justice to her”, said Panchali Bhattacharjee.

Her statement came after a brutal gang-rape incident has shocked the people fueling resentment further after four police stations’ denial of lodging any case or cooperating with the victim family, rather the victim was allegedly harassed, scolded by the police.

After statewide condemnation hit the Govt, opposition leaders met the victim families then police arrested four persons in this rape incident connection. Total numbers of accused are at least 10.

The survived rape victim who is fighting with death now at TMC Hospital, while talking to media  describe how brutally she was raped and each rapist raped her multiple times after she was taken to a jungle in a pre-plan way via an auto in which she was riding to go to home.

At first she took the auto at GB to reach her home at Arundhuti Nagar and the known driver took the auto towards Nehru park. When she asked, the driver said, a person will give him money and thus he taking the auto there but as soon as the driver reached near Nehru park and called someone in phone named Mantu, two men came and sat in the auto and pressed her mouth.

The auto ran in high speed and entered a jungle and then she could not recognize the spot crossing Usha Bazar. A white colour car full of 6 persons also joined the rapists. She was threatened to be murdered on spot and brutally gang-raped her.

TMC Doctor said, such brutal case was never handled in this hospital.
