AGARTALA, Sep 25 (TIWN): In another unexpected move, Tripura Police cancelled CPI-M’s “Raj Bhawan Abhiyan” rally on Wednesday which was all set to proceed towards the Raj Bhawan since 11 AM with 9 points of demands scheduled to be placed before Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais. The rally was cancelled on the peak moment when the CPI-M agitators were all set to kick off the rally, which has generated mass resentment and relaxed the opposition to blame the Government directly in another fresh issue. Former Chief Minister, Leader of the Opposition, Politburo Manik Sarkar has announced a press conference in the evening in this regard whereas a group of delegations completed the “Raj Bhawan Abhiyan” process by submitting the deputation to the Governor house in absence of the Governor. Why the rally was cancelled, however has not yet briefed to the media by Police.CPI-M slammed the BJP Govt saying the BJP is so much afraid of CPI-M that they are now started cancelling rallies. A CPI-M leader was heard pre-awarding BJP with harsh words as “Cheating Baaz” if doesn’t fulfill Vision Document.

CPI-M MLA Sudhan Das said, “By such moves, nobody can stop the Leftist movement. As much the BJP will stop us, we will move back again and again. CPI-M will regain power in Tripura by unseating the BJP”.

CPI-M’s "Raj Bhawan Abhiyan" rally was cancelled by police today on the peak of the moment when the rally was all set to march and raising slogans of Inquilab Zindabad”.

This rally was announced before one month and was granted under police permission, said MLA Ratan Bhowmik. After that police reportedly two times changed the rally's direction. CPI-M leaders agreed with police but when the rally was all set to march, Police asked CPI-M 'not to march' any rally today and to complete the protest programme here only.

MLA Ratan Bhowmik slammed the Police, saying, "Shame on such police dept which can not take a decision properly"

Slogan continued "Tripura Police Haay, Haay...."

CPI-M’s Dalit wing ‘Tafashili Jati Unnayan Samiti’ announced to hoist the biggest ever Dalit movement in Agartala on Wednesday demanding rights for backward class people along with 9 more demands, scheduled to be placed to the Governor Ramesh Bais, however, has been cancelled today.

CPI-M’s Statement behind Dalit-movement : “Across the country, severe attacks on Dalits are carrying out specially since the Modi Govt came in power at Centre. Everyday at average 9 Dalits are murdered and 19 women are raped. Increasing honour-killing are at rise which victimized Amrita and Pranay, by killing Pranay mercilessly. In July month, Sakshi Mishra, daughter of BJP legislator Rajesh Mishra, marrying a man outside her caste was attempted to be murdered. Another 22 years boy was burnt by petrol with a same cause. In Tripura’s Bishalgrah Madan Nama was beaten so brutally that he died. Sukhu Gour, another Dalit was killed merciless by BJP miscreants. Prasanna Bhattacharjee’s daughter married a non-Brahmin man and after 2 years when she came with her husband to home at Kumarghat, BJP, RSS supporters rushed to their home and attacked them and the Brahmin family was outcasted from that area. It is our duty to raise voice for the Dalits and CPI-M will continue raising voices”.

The movement was also reasoned to be against privatization of Govt institutions.

The protest was also set to voice for MGNREGA works, Govt jobs, filling up of 50,000 vacant posts, promotion issues, 10323 teachers’ livelihood and to regularize the contractual employees, law and order issues.
