AGARTALA, Sep 24 (TIWN): “PM Narendra Modi has marked 117 districts as aspiration districts. Among the 117, one is Dhalai district. But we didn't stop at Dhalai. State Government have identified 12 such blocks of 5 districts of Tripura to enhance the standard of living of the tribals and to make them self-sufficient”, announced Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after inaugurating One day workshop on “Transformation of Aspirational Block Programme” at Pragna Bhawan, Agartala on Tuesday. “We have 58 blocks in total, and I will develop all of them”, he added.

Through Pradhan Mantri Sampada Yojana, subsidised loans of Rs. 28 crores have been sanctioned to 7 individuals. This will be used in buiding rice mill in Dharmanagar by investing Rs.13.5 crore, another rice mill will be built in Belonia by investing Rs.6 crores, another in Sunamura by investing 2 crore, pickles factory by investing Rs. 1 crore 25 lacs, spice factory by investing Rs. 1 crore 25 lacs. Shri Deb also talked about having requested ministers to make subsidised packages for tourists so that they may travel all over north-east by small aircrafts. 

Through FCI, Paddy is being bought at MSP in Tripura after government investment with subsidy. This is the first time that a total amount of 88 crore have reached in farmer’s accounts. Both Patta holders & non Patta holders are getting money under PMKSNY scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer, where no middle man is involved. The era of commission business is over. Till now 2,15,000 families have been registered under this scheme which reflects rural development, said CM. 

Deb also spoke about the development of ADC area's which has always been overlooked by the previous Gov'ts, but now Central Gov't has planned some parameters specially for ADC area's development. 50 crores will be alloted & 12 blocks have been selected for development in ADC areas. 

Chief minister shared his pleasant experience in Damcherra that he asked the officials not to organise something fancy and he was glad to see that  not even a single plastic material was used during lunch there which shows that PM Shri Modi ji’s message to shun single-use plastics . 

He also said, “A boy came and asked me help of Rs 3 lacs during Janata Darbar for building a rehabilitation centre for drug addicts. He was an addict himself before but now he wants to serve the society. His voice has reached to home minister, Shri Amit Shah ji. Recently it has come into notice that HIV has increased mostly due to usage of used infected syringes.And it has been decided to make arms and drug-free Tripura by 2022”.

Lastly, Chief minister announced that State Govt employees of Tripura who will work efficiently for continuous 3 years will get a chance of choosing their postings . This will be to motivate  employees and for a better work culture.

Apart from the Chief minister, Chief secretary, Additional Secretary(RD Department), DM Dhalai, CEO of TRLM and others were present on this day.
