AGARTALA, October 27 (TIWN): First aid training helps save lives, said minister for higher education Bhanulal Saha while inaugurating the four day long first aid training organized by Indian Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch at Red Cross Bhavan, here today. The training programme will continue till October 30.
The minister further said that, knowing first aid allows you to help someone who is injured or suddenly ill until help arrives or they’re able to see a health care provider. First aid is absolutely essential in emergency situations, he added.
The ability to carry out first aid before paramedics arrive can really minimise a casualty’s damage, help aid their recovery and even ensure their survival. That casualty may be a friend or a stranger, no matter who they are they will all have one thing in common they will need your immediate help, the minister mentioned.
There has been thousands of cases where heart attacks, burns, electrocutions, falls, spinal injuries, choking and bleeding have all gone untreated until members of the emergency services have arrived on scene. So, first aid training comes in handy for a variety of different situations in life, he mentioned.
