Much awaited DEMU train arrives in Tripura

AGARTALA, Sep 6 (TIWN): The much awaited DEMU train service which will kick off before Durga puja for the first time in Northeast state Tripura has arrived in Agartala Railway Station for trail run.

This train likely to increase the frequency of trains by easing movements of regular passengers.

As CM Biplab Deb promised, 4 new trains to be introduced before Durga Puja, today trial Train arrived in Agartala Railway Station, which drew gathering of public in the Railway Station.

Just before 3 years Tripura was connected by Broad Gauge service in 2016 and having now at least 5 Express trains and various local trains. Railway connectivity was expanded till Sabroom and now Belonia-Sabroom train service will start soon as Chief Safety Commissioner Sailesh Kumar Pathak has given “outstanding” grade about the tracks.

Govt of Tripura has targeted to boost tourism via ease transport system and DEMU trains to be started from the 1st September (tomorrow) which will massively increase the frequency of trains in stations.

By calculating the movements of trains, Chief Minister Biplab Deb recently said that at each 25 minutes of half an hour there will be trains in stations now. 

Tripura gets DEMU Train service Dharmanagar- Agartala- Belonia- Sabroom.
