Tripura Govt allocates 14.22 acres land to construct replicas of 51 Shaktipeeths to boost Tourism

AGARTALA, Sep 6 (TIWN): State Government has allocated 14.22 acres of land for construction of replicas of 51 Shakti Peeth at Fulkumari Mouja under Udaipur Sub Division.

There are 51 Shaktipeeths in India and neighbouring countries, out of which India has 38, while 6 are in Bangladesh, Nepal has 3 and Pakistan has 2, one is in Tibet and one is in Srilanka. In India, maximum 11 Shaktipeeths are in West Bengal. For common man, it is not possible to visit all 51 Shaktipeeths in lifetime. Therefore, tourism Department has decided to construct the exact replicas of the Shaktipeeths near Tripurasundari Matabari temple. This will also help to boost tourism sector.

The proposed location is at Fulkumari village just 3 KMs from the Tripurasundari Temple on the Udaipur Amarpur road.

Tourism Department has prepared preliminary project report of ₹ 44 Crores to develop replicas of 51 Shatipeeths in this land. State Government has sent the proposal to the 15th Finance Commission for consideration to fund the project.

To start with the State Government has completed the demarcation of the land. Very soon the land development will be carried out by the Tourism Department from the Swadesh Darshan funds.
