AGARTALA, Sep 4 (TIWN): Licensed alcohol shops, bars are always parts of transparent society either it’s Bangalore or Kolkata whereas Tripura has been suffering due to lack of licensed shops and rise of illegal shops.

Even at Rs. 5, Rs. 10 illegal sellers are selling liquors which are more harmful for the consumers. A Good Governance can not allow illegal industry’s rise and BJP Govt’s Nesha-Mukt Tripura Abhiyan is a part of this.

Also importance of bar cum restaurants’ existence is valid which does not allow “moral policing”, picking up, arrests of young boys and girls from unlicensed restaurants selling liquors. Example Battala illegal sellers of liquors which are not new but many young people were victimized while enjoying liquor party there but if licensed bar there was the situation could be different.

In time of Rose Valley, there was a bar attracted young people in the Rose Valley park and made huge profits. So, undoubtedly bars will help to ear revenues for the Govt.

From Delhi to Chennai to West Bengal everywhere bars are allowed, except Tripura.

Survey says, restricting young people form attending legalized gatherings, parties instigate more crime rates in a society.

But surprisingly, Opposition parties trying to link Nesha-Mukt abhiyan with bar, licensed shops which is not Govt’s double-standard, but proves the opposition’s double-standard, when various clubs, social organizations since decades in Tripura turned place for secret liquor parties, which is bitter but truth.

Report says, under CPI-M Govt, licenses were given in more numbers to the liquor shops than the BJP-IPFT era.

No Govt can change the numbers of liquor consumers but Govt’s works is to reduce the illegal sales and the present Govt exactly working in this direction.

Moreover, bars do not sell heroin, ganja and phensedyl and thus there is no link to connect Nesha-Mukt Abhiyan in this issue.
