AGARTALA, October 25 (TIWN): In the name of interrogation police are taking special care of the prime accused, scamster Bimal Chakraborty of 17 crore MGNREGA scam in Bishalgarh RD Block like a VIP. Till now the police are unable to arrest the remaining 11 involved persons in the MGNREGA Rs 17 crore scam of Bishalghar RD Block.According to sources, taking advantage of the night some high level officers of Secretariat, CPIM leaders, Bimal's brothers are visiting scamster Bimal in the police station. Not only that Bisalgarh P.S Police officials are ordered by higher-ups to treat Bimal like a VIP and function more like obedient servants rather than the role of law enforcement. At present Bimal is in police remand, so how the outside officials, party leaders are able to visit him? Its putting a big question over the role of the police. So in the name of justice what Tripura can expect from a corrupt "Home Minister" ?

A highly placed source of Melarmath today, said that the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar who is in Delhi for CPI (M) politburo meeting will try his level best by not to raise anyone’s  voice against the latest scams that came to light in the state. The Melarmath source further said that, some members may try to draw the attention of the others regarding the latest scams of Tripura. The role of the CM regarding the MGNREGA multicrore scam of Bishalghar RD Block was not sufficient at all, the source mentioned.

It is to be mentioned here that, Bimal surrendered before the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court on October 23rd last. The Court sent him to five days police remand.

A section of public marked the surrender of Bimal as a “got up” match between police and Bimal. Earlier, Scamster Bimal was suspended from the post of Deputy Director of ICA department by the state government after getting immense pressure from the media, different political parties and public.

Under instruction from top brass, the incumbent Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bishalgarh, Subrata Das, registered an FIR against his predecessor and incumbent Assistant Director of Information Department, Bimal Chakraborty and 11 others, the source mentioned. The alleged scam in MGNREGA fund and a few other Central flagship projects have occurred during past two financial years, according to the report of State audit bureau.
