Agartala, Aug 9 (TIWN) : Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Friday spoke about the opportunities of business & industrial development in Tripura in a seminar held by "All Tripura Merchants Association" in Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala. Along with him Transport & Tourism Minister of Tripura Mr. Pranajit Singh Roy, Chairman of Khadi & Village Industries Board Rajeev Bhattacharjee, Chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation Ltd Santosh Saha, Chairman of TIDC Mr. Tinku Roy and others were present.

Chief Minister Mr. Deb advised to keep the spirit of competitiveness, awareness (lok jagaran, he added in his speech) and to be level headed in order to grow in business. He spoke about changing the way of living, the way of thinking and to keep our surroundings clean.

He took a good example of Marwaris, as they have entrepreneurial spirit in them. Similarly, a person should take risks to set up businesses. "No Risk, No Gain", He said in his speech. Businessmen should be open-minded, he added.

He also spoke about the oppurtunities in fisheries, paddy, tea, jackfruits, in handicrafts and in food processing. The Government of Tripura is providing branding ang logos for industries.

A round of applause has been heard when he proposed the idea of opening a testing lab from Agricultural Department after getting a green flag from Governtment of India. Then it will be possible to directly ship the state products to Dubai through Gomati river in a matter of 6 days. This way the extra transportation cost and days will lessen and will gain more customers.

Chief minister believes that this will improve the economy of the state. In short, he encouraged the people of Tripura to be innovative and encouraged to think like an entrepreneur.
