AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s political intentions under scanner as this former Congressman’s every administrative decision from TET passed Teachers Recruitment to forcing Science Students into Arts streams in colleges are anti-student, anti-youth which caused mass resentments across State. Ratan Lal’s continued anti-people decisions directly causing damages to 16 months old BJP Govt’s popularity. In political corners buzzing with the speculation that Ratan Lal aspiring to become Chief Minister after 2023 Election or promoting Pratima Bhowmik as next CM after 2023 Assembly Election in Tripura. Ratan Lal’s sole intention seems focused on damaging Biplab Deb Govt’s mass popularity via all types of anti-people decisions.

Either it’s TET qualified youths’ recruitment or it’s College admission, the Education dept is facing tremendous controversies for year under Education Minister Ratanlal Nath. From Nath’s behavior with teachers, students to unnecessary problems about College admission have been generating huge controversy. Ami teachers crisis claim, the Dept is not appointing teachers even though over thousand are left jobless after completing B.Ed and qualifying TET.

Huge numbers of science students have been forced to take admission in Arts this year whereas they students just want their admission in B.Sc pass. Students recently also gathered before Minister Ratanlal Nath’s home seeking his response, even though no clarification from the Minister was received, neither he came before media and the students. Nath did not meet any student, rather police were called to push them back to homes. However, the afraid students even though didn’t want to talk to media, few of them in short has briefed media about their suffering.

One student said, “At first we filled up application to get admission but in the first and second lists our names didn’t come. Then in 3rd and 4th list also our names didn’t come. We went to Education department then and the department again gave us forms. After 2 days, lists again declared and we got our names in B.Sc but when we went to the College instead of sciencewe found our names are in arts. The College said to us right now there is no vacancy in the College and asked us to take admission in BA. Later if vacancy is given, we will be given admission”.

The students asked, how they can manage with arts after passing with science background ?

First of all, they want to study in science not in Arts. Then if they are forced to read in Arts, then it will be very tough for them, as the subjects are new to them.

The students said, even after in the form it was written B.Sc they were not given seat in B.Sc but generally for pass course science background students have right to study in science.

It also reveals College’s attitude to Arts stream as if “anybody” can study in Arts but “everybody” can not study in science.

Earlier, centering admission delays various protests were staged. Tripura Education dept came in controversy with College education as per semester it has added 100 rupees fee for eachstudent, whereas before election, it was promised girl-education will be free.

Instead of meeting, Ratanlal Nath called police force before his home and they pushed the students back to home. All these have raised question, why Nath is doing all these ? Isn’t it suspicious that a former Congress leader is doing everything which is affecting BJP Govt’s image ?
