AGARTALA, July 20 (TIWN): Tripura Institute of Paramedical Sciences, a joint venture with Government of Tripura and affiliated with Tripura Central University, established on August 24, 2009, in Hapania, Agartala is one of the premium Institute having world-class infrastructure in North Eastern India coordinating professional learning experiences and training for students in the field of Paramedical Sciences.

As on Today TIPS is observing National Anesthesia & Operation Theatre Technologist Day, as the day is observed every year on 20th July. As a part of this celebration a Seminar cum Workshop has been organized on Intubation Technique at Assembly Hall at TIPS campus. Before some operations the patient is under general anaesthesia. During this period patient must be supported for ventilation to maintain the respiratory process in normal condition. Intubation procedure is followed for this purpose. Students from Operation Theatre Technology Department have been placed in some remarkable hospitals of India and abroad also.

Like, Prasenjit Das from Agartala, Suman Gowala from Kumarghat, Pravakar Das from Teliamura, Saddam Hossain Khan from Sonamurah, Satyajit Debnath from Agartala are placed at AIIMS, Delhi; Dipankar Saha from Kumarghat has joined Dr. Al-Habib Medical Group (HMG), Saudi Arabia on June, 2019; Jahangir Hossain from Sonamurah is placed at NH Bangalore and many students are placed at AGMC & GBP Hospital Agartala. Two of our pass out students Amlan Dasgupta and Arup Chowdhury are placed at AGMC & GBP Hospital Agartala and are part of the team for workshop today.

The workshop has the privilege of having renowned dignitaries which includes Dr. Anupam Chakroborty & Dr Biswajit Chakroborty, Asst. Professor from the Department of Anesthesiology, AGMC & GBP Hospital Agartala. They will demonstrate on Intubation Technique to the participants, which is an essential technique to be undertaken by the Operation Theatre Technologist / Technician. Dr. Jayathie Sen, Principal In-Charge, Paramedical Section, TIPS along with Dr. Mandira Chatterjee, Ex HOD, Department of Anaesthesia, IGM Hospital and current Visiting Lecturer, TIPS will preside the workshop. Other participants include students and faculty members from both paramedical & nursing section of TIPS.
