3333 people homeless in flood affected Tripura, 2 died : 25 relief camps opened

AGARTALA, July 15 (TIWN): According to the Disaster Management Dept report of the West District, 3333 people are rendering homeless and 2 persons died in Dhalai and South Tripura District. Total 25 relief camps have been opened across Tripura’s West, Khowai and Gomati District. West Tripura is sharing the highest relief camps at 20 whereas Khowai is executing 4 relief camps and 1 at Gomati District. Relief camps, rescue operations have been started across State. Security, Police personnel have also been deployed to ensure public safety. CM Biplab Deb personally alerted people with help numbers, instructed administration. Biplab Deb told people of his state, “State Disaster Management teams are on ground round the clock for rescue and help. For any emergency please contact to State emergency operation centre : 0381- 2416045 or 0381- 2416241 or District emergency toll free operation centre 1077” “Our Government is closely monitoring the heavy rain situation in Tripura and officials are on high alert to tackle any uncertain incident. NDRF, State Disaster volunteers and Police personals are on ground to tackle any situation”, said CM. River Howrah, Manu’s water level are also raising high, which have tensed the locals.

Alerts are sounded also in various river zone areas. Rescue operations continue across affected areas.

There will be continuous heavy raining for next few days, according to Skymet weather, which already caused flood in the capital city and few more subdivisions, the situation may be worsened.

Rain has created havoc in Tripura along with other Northeast states like Assam.

 Rain-triggered floods and mudslides in Northeast state have killed over a dozen people and displaced more than a million from their homes, with officials warning the situation could worsen in the coming days.

Heavy monsoon rains in Assam state killed at least 10 people in the past 72 hours, state authorities said on Saturday, while six people were reportedly killed in Arunachal Pradesh, which borders China's Tibet region.

In Tripura due to storms 3 were killed in road accident after tree fell on a car.On July 12, man named Subari Sen drowned in river Muhuri Train services are also majorly affected due to flood.
