AGARTALA, July 11 (TIWN): IPFT Minister Mebar Kumar Jamtia calling media along with IPFT President, Minister N C Debbarma has slammed few media houses of Tripura for propagating fake news and taken the name of “Headlines Tripuraâ€, a local Bengali news channel.
The issue which Mebar Jamatia was bound to raise, was a fake news cooked by the channel claiming that IPFT Ministers Mebar Jamatia and NC Debbarma will be sacked after election and as a result, they held a meeting with CPI-M’s GMP leaders to weaken the BJP-IPFT Govt.
Addressing media, Jamatia said, “It has been seen that right from the afternoon some of the private channels are broadcasting very distorting news items, highlighting myself and Forest Minister are likely to be sacked after the Panchayat Election. Also they claimed that we are holing meetings with CPI-M backed GMP to undermine the collision Govt of the state. I protest strongly against such news which are fake. I will be bound to go to court. Among the media specially it was Headlines Tripura and such kind of news have shocked me. Fake news is very very unfortunate for our society”.
