AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Petrol (Gasoline) price in Agartala, Tripura is Rs. 70.91 and Diesel price is Rs. 66.15 Per Litre as on 03-07-2019.

The Price Revision is applicable from 6.00 AM of every day across India.

State-run oil marketing companies chose to keep the retail prices of petrol and diesel static on Wednesday (July 3) across major cities of the country. In national capital Delhi, petrol is being sold for Rs 70.51 per litre while diesel costs Rs 64.33 a litre, no change compared with yesterday’s price.

Worth mentioning here is that the retail fuel prices in the national capital Delhi are the cheapest among all metros and most state capitals due to lower taxes. Plus, petrol and diesel prices were raised for the sixth successive day across major cities of the country on Tuesday.

In Kolkata, people have to shell out pay Rs 72.75 for a litre of petrol while diesel costs Rs 66.23 per litre, as per data available with Indian Oil Corp website. Similarly, in Mumbai, petrol and diesel are selling for Rs 76.15 a litre and Rs 67.40 per litre, no change in prices against Tuesday’s rates.

Citizens in Chennai have to pay Rs 73.19 for a litre of petrol while diesel retailed at Rs 67.96 per litre. In Gurugram, petrol price remained stable at Rs 70.88 a litre and diesel price at Rs 63.79 a litre. In Noida, petrol, diesel prices remained unchanged at Rs 70.35 a litre and Rs 63.70 respectively.

On Wednesday, in the international oil market, crude prices went up, stabilising following over 4 per cent drop in the earlier session, as extended supply reduction by OPEC and its allies helped support prices despite growing worries about tepid demand. International Brent crude futures were at trading USD 62.88 per barrel up about 0.8 per cent from their last close.

Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley has cut its long-term Brent crude — the global benchmark — prediction on Tuesday to USD 60 per barrel from USD 65 per barrel, and mentioned the crude oil market is largely balanced in 2019 after OPEC and Russia agreed to extend their supply cuts by even longer than expected.

Last month, Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan raised the issue of elevated crude price with Saudi Oil Minister Khalid Al Falih. So far this year, Brent has risen over 5 per cent.

"Expressed concern on the developments in the Strait of Hormuz leading to rising crude oil price. Reiterated the sensitivity of Indian consumers to prevailing oil price volatility. Sought active role of #SaudiArabia within OPEC & OPEC Plus for keeping oil prices at reasonable levels,” he had tweeted.
