AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): BJP led Central Government under the leadership of the then Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on February 11, 2018 had promised Tripura’s 7 lakhs unemployed youths that if BJP is voted to power then within one year State Govt will fill-up 50,000 vacant posts. While promising State BJP spokespersons were also sharing the dais with Jaitley along with Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, but after assuming power, central govt has been silent about the promise dumping all up to the State Govt. This section of the Vision Document had left the unemployed Govt job aspirants shocked. 50000 govt jobs in one year without Central Govt’s help was practically not possible, however, having same party’s Governments at both Central and State, the State Govt is unable to blame the Centre. On the other side, Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy’s (CMIE) monthly report for June-2019 was published on Monday morning, once again, ranking Tripura as the topper state in unemployment rate. Theunemployment rate which is mounting across the country however has decreased 4% in Tripura in compare to the last months.

On May-2019 the unemployment rate was 30.2% whereas this month it’s 26.2%. Still, Tripura tops inunemployment rate  in compare to other 29 states of India.

The second topper state is Haryana with 22.1% and Jammu & Kashmir is second with 14.9%.  The massive increasing unemployment rate is due to a drop in Govt job recruitments leaving thousands of TPSC job aspirants unemployed. A crisis in the Govt job distribution was felt in last one year as Tripura never developed not only industrialization but IT and software companies in the state. As a result, a huge numbers of engineers left jobless in Tripura, however the crisis is less felt among Doctors.

Also it has hit 2 financial years when the Govt depts are not appointing new employees at a large scale and TPSC website left dry without fresh advertisement.

Job creator campaigning is going on State Govt side, but survey reported, the 7 lakhs youths who benefited BJP in Assembly Election 2018 can be crucial to the BJP in next polls if not provided with ‘immediate relief’ of recruitments in Govt departments.

Tripura has no industrialization and the job creator is a tough matter when Tripura’s living cost is too much high in compare to other states like West Bengal. Also private companies pay very minimum wage to the employees due to available unemployed youths. It includes privates schools also. In many schools authorities are appointing teachers at very cheap price Rs. 2000.

Business of hotels and others infrastructure do not profit businessmen at the initial stage due to poverty of the state and slow economy.

BJP before election had promised to give 50,000 Govt jobs in first one year, whereas it has ended by giving 1377 jobs only in the last year.
