NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, July 1 (TIWN): Wrong treatment allegation against Udaipur District hospital doctors once ‘again’ has hit the hospital premise, generated massive resentment among the patient parties. One accident patient Pratap Das who was at first taken to Belonia hospital and then was brought in Gomati District hospital after referred by doctors at Belonia hospital has died mysteriously after pushing injections. After primary treatment, the on duty Doctor and Staffs allegedly told patient party that his (Patient’s) health condition is better but as soon as the patient was pushed with injection, he started screaming saying, “I will not survive” and was heavily sweating. Then nurses put more injections saying, these are gastric-control medicines. Then, immediately Pratap Das died but the nurses and a junior doctor insisted that he must be taken to GB hospital but patient party said, he is already dead and then why to take him in GB ?

Talking to hospital staffs, one of them said, “When Pratap Das was brought in hospital, his condition was better and after CT scans and checking normal medicines were given by Doctor Chandan Mallik and patient’s condition was also normal. But at around 7.30 pm his condition deteriorated and to control gas, we gave medicines and whatever we could do but we could not save him. We have sent him for post mortem”.

However, patient’s death in Gomati District Hospital has become common and it is not the first time allegation of wrong treatment came against Doctors but many times including deaths of children with similar allegations of pushing wrong injections has been in media limelight.

Patient party is unable to rely on Post Mortem report, demanded proper investigation.

There are bundles of allegations against Udaipur District hospital doctors. Senior doctors usually choose to stay out of the hospital and always come according to their wish. There is no time table which are followed, specially by the senior Doctors.

TIWN many times covered news with evidences how in past years if a doctor has his / her visiting time at 8 pm, s/he comes at 11 pm and such visits often remain just for name. It does not matter for how long patient parties are waiting for the Doctors’ arrival without moving even for food and water, but these Doctors will comes whenever they wish.

In morning after completing duties in personal chambers, the doctors usually make their visit.

In this situation, Chief Minister’s direct intervention, forensic reports are needed to control such lack of disciplines in Govt hospitals. One person from the patient party said, they have no trust on Post Mortem report.
