AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): Centering the Power-cut problems, the opposition parties have hinted protests in coming days and if the BJP led Tripura Govt can not solve the continuous power cut problems the situation might be stormy for the Govt soon. Public resentments have crossed the patience level as hour-to-hour power cuts heavily disrupting the normal lives. From office hours works to night’s sleep all under trouble as the Power Dept headed by Minister Jishnu Dev Verman has failed to reduce the problem. Kerosene lamps, candles, hand fans were forgotten matters for the capital city Agartala’s people in last few years but the situations are as worse here as other subdivisions. Local media reports have drawn public attention which said, many areas’ people are struggling with hand-fans in Tripura as power connectivity is cut there from many days specially in rural areas. Lack of maintenance has hit the power connectivity in the state.With light wave of win, people in Tripura area suffering due to massive power cut problems even though Power Minister Jishnu Dev Verman said that there is no power shortage in the state.
Tripura Govt is getting 63 MW from Rukhia, 42 MW from Baramura, 10 MW from Dumboor, 100 MW from Monarchak, 130 MW from central share and from OTPC 725 MW.Tripura needs 300 MW power whereas Nepal and Bangladesh are getting power from Tripura.
Power Dept of Tripura headed by Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Barman however has launched a new project named in Bengali “Vidyut Nigam Aponar Dorgoray”, but public have rubbished the idea.
Toll free numbers have also given 1912 for registering complaints, but customers have alleged that this number is not always functioning properly. Govt has also given alternative numbers for other problems, faults in electricity connection 1381-235-3502 and 0381-235-6470.
Social media users stated that the toll free number is not at all working and able to help people.
