Violent mob attack in MP Rebati Tripura’s home, 2 injured,1 critical, firing by police to control situation : MP blames IPFT

GANDACHERA, June 15 (TIWN): A violent attack took place by mob at newly election MP of Tripura Rebati Tripura on yesterday midnight, left his relatives and party workers injured in his absence. Centering the incident massive tension erupted across Gandachera subdivision’s Durgapur area. Sudden attack of angry mob created war-like situation in the house of Rebati Tripura, though, fortunately he was not at his Gandachera home and residing in Agartala. The miscreants started searching for Rebati Tripura aimed to kill him on spot and after not getting him his house was vandalized. The miscreants were “furious”, “determined” to kill Rebati Tripura if they found him on spot. Even after informing police, they took 45 minutes to reach the spot. Rebati Tripura’s brother in law’s car was broken, boundary walls and all items outside the main rooms were destroyed. Charan Tripura, Subhankar Debnath (BJP activists) who were inside Rebati Tripura’s home were injured.

Police came after 45 minutes, but the situation went out of control till then.To control the situation, police started firing on air which generated tension across the area. It took more than 30 minutes to normalize the situation.

Rebati Tripura reportedly informed a local newspaper “Kalamer Shakti” that IPFT goons have led the whole attack.

Huge numbers of police personnel were deployed in that area. Rebati Tripura has condemned the attack took place before police.

Both injured BJP workers Charan Tripura, Subhankar Debnath were hospitalized. Charan Tripura’s situation is critical, referred to GB hospital.
