AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, May 9 (TIWN): A massive embarrassment for Tripura BJP Law Minister Ratanlal Nath who had claimed on April 16 late-night press conference that on 11th April a free and fair election was conducted in Tripura.

Jolting BJP’s claim on the other side, CEO Sriram Taranikanti has confirmed on yesterday that in 138 booths re-poll will be conducted on May 12.

With a major shame for Tripura’s electoral history, Election Commission has announced a total re-polling in 168 polling stations.

Addressing media, CEO Sriram Taranikanti said that the polling will be started from 7 am and to be continued till 5 pm. Total numbers of voters are 1,41,255.

“We will set all managements for free and fair repolling on Sunday. We already have central forces in our state. Strict observations will be kept as we have now less numbers of booths”, said the CEO.

The re-polling is being conducted for the West Tripura constituency held on 11th April. BJP stopped lakhs of voters from casting votes.
