AGARTALA, April 29 (TIWN): CPI-M on Monday launched massive protest demanding re-poll in West Tripura. Manik Sarkar has led the massive rally at the capital city Agartala.

West Tripura Election was held on 11th April, which turned into a “farce” led by BJP MP candidate Pratima Bhowmik. Her rigging, illegal actions, violence are widely proven. She was also seen threatening an IPS Officer, Additional SP (Urban) Kiran Kumar to be murdered on spot.

Pratima Bhowmik was also served with a notice for her election expenditure.

CEO Sriram Taranikanti, RO West Tripura Sandeep Mahatme sent manipulated election data to stop repolling in favour of BJP.

In this situation both Congress and CPI-M have demanded a total repolling in the whole constituency.

Addressing media, CPI-M leader Bijan Dhar said, CCTV cameras were destroyed, voters could not cast votes and in such incidents enough numbers of evidences have been given but still after 16 days of passage, the Election Commission is unable to take decision on re-poll. What more proof the Election Commission needed when due to security’s withdrawal Additional DGP Rajiv Singh was dismissed from law and order charges ? On the other side, Congress has also demanded the same saying the party can not bear patience for waiting for re-poll announcement. Both CPI-M and Congress will move to Election Commission of India at Delhi for the blast time or will knock Supreme Court of India.
