AGARTALA, April 27 (TIWN): ECI's bold steps encouraging signs to protect Democracy in Tripura. Based on news published in Tripurainfoway.com (TIWN) Election Commission of India has issued a notice to Tripura CEO Sriram Taranikanti on Friday which disclosed massive CCTV camera damage on the eve of East Tripura Election. After Arvind Anand, Secretary of Election Commission of India sent a letter to the CEO Sriram Taranikanti, the CEO office had forwarded a letter to the DM of Dhalai District to verify the footage and news sent to the Election Comission of India sent by Tripurainfoway.com Editor Saumen Sarkar to Vinod Zutshi, the Special Observer of Election Commission appointed for Tripura. Sources said, after getting this letter, a kind of earthquake has hit the CEO Office. EC source said that the video footage provide by the Editor has also taken very seriously. Saumen Sarkar in a separate mail has sent BJP MP candidate Pratima Bhowmik’s video where she is threatening Additional SP (Urban) Kiran Kumar saying , “Ham abhi tereko maar dalega”.

Noteworthy, even though the East Tripura poll was in much better form than the West Tripura but thousands of voters oters were prevented across East Tripura today following the trend of West Tripura Election of 1.

1th April. Even though continuous pressure from the opposition were given on the poll day and voters struggled against BJP miscreants to cast vote at any cost still in many places booths were captured, polling agents were pushed out of the booths.

At least 3 BJP leaders were arrested today including two polling agents at Amarpur. Fake vote casting has been alleged at Telimaura and across Khowai, Hrishyamukh, Jolaibari terrorized-situations have been created.

On 22nd April, one day ahead of East Tripura Election, 197 CCTV cameras were damaged which were repaired after whole night work by the electoral officers. In Khowai, Kuarghat, Amarpur, Hrishyamukh, Mani, Jaolaibari, Ramchandraghat, Rajanagtar areas, people were attacked house to house on election eve night.

People by overcoming all fears and threats, came to booths to cast their votes but in Jolaibari, Hrishyamukh like areas after coming in the poll centres they were attempted to be prevented.

15 polling agents of Hrishyamukh were threatened not to come in the polling station and 15 were beaten inside booths and they were pushed out of the centres. Around till 9 am huge terror was organized in those polling areas but due to oppositions’ continuous complaints some measures of security was taken and the voters are again coming to cast their votes at there.

Footages are viral where Election rigging has been released with gross evidences.

In Amarpur, Police had arrested two BJP polling agents at Sankar Palli’s No-2 booth after one of them was marking voters at a polling station sitting in an area which is not allowed for poling agents.

This move was taken by DM Gomati T K Debnath after seeing both BJP polling agents’ unlawful activities inside the polling station.
