Kamalpur (TIWN), Apr 25: Continuous road blockade for 25 hours virtually crippled life in the bordering subdivision of Gandacharra as agitating IPFT workers cut off Gandacharra from the rest of the state since 2 pm last noon.

Yesterday, IPFT workers blocked roads at three points in and around Gandacharra. They blocked Ambassa-Gandacharra road at Jagabandhu para, Amarpur-Gandacharra road at Kalajhari and Raisyabari-Gandacharra road at Pakhi para. According to the Subdivisional Secretary of IPFT Prem Sadhan Tripura, they blocked roads demanding strict action against the BJP workers who attacked three IPFT workers on the day of poll and the stopping of attacks on activists of other political parties by BJP. The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) convened an all party meeting to resolve the matter but it remained unfruitful. As a result, the subdivision remained cut off from the rest of the state. The normalcy of the bordering subdivision virtually crippled and tension panicked the area. Now, how the deadlock would resolve remained the matter to be seen as the meeting with BJP and IPFT set after the CM's instruction failed to yield anything and the CM left for election campaign in West Bengal this morning.
