AGARTALA, April 17 (TIWN): Tripura rejoicing Democracy’s strong power and defeat of evils Pratima, Biplab, Rajiv Singh. Social media users have welcomed Election Commission of India’s decision of deferring the East Tripura Election on the view of massive poll rigging chances and deteriorating law and order situation under the present Government. Facebook, twitter users have congratulated the victory of democracy, however, except the Chowkidars. The decision came on the peak moment of Pratima Bhowmik’s on camera threat to an IPS officer has been going viral where she is giving life threat to the Krian Kumar Add SP (Urban) saying, “Tereko Hum Abhi Mar dalega….”. The crime master of all poll violence former ADG (L&O) Rajiv Singh who paralyzed all central forces functioning since April 10, one day ahead of the West Tripura Election led massive poll rigging, booth capturing and stopping voters to cast votes and Election Commission has removed Rajiv Singh from Election duties and also transferred from Law&Order dept, which has jolted Crime Queen Pratima Bhowmik.

On the other side, BJP has threatened CPI-M, Congress to teach lesson again. The statement came from none other than Law Minister Ratanlal Nath.The Left parties and the Congress had also complained to the EC about massive rigging, booth capturing and malpractices by the ruling BJP during polling in Tripura West constituency on April 11. 

All the political parties however, have welcomed the decision.

1) Booths were captured on 11th April,
2) Fake vote casting was made by clearing the booths from opposition polling agents,
3) Voters were not allowed to cast votes.
4) Many were injured while attempting to cast votes,
5) Security blanket were withdrawn,
6) Webcasting, videographing were halted,
7) Before election and after election BJP bike-led-goons threatened house to house, attacked physically, damaged properties, Presiding Officers were attacked while carrying EVMs in many places,
8) Oppositions could not do campaigning due to BJP’s open attack before police.

The EC also replaced Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Rajiv Singh with V.S.Yadav. The decision came on separate reports by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sriram Taranikanti, Special Central Police Observer Mrinal Kanti Das (a former Director General of Manipur Police), Returning Officer Vikas Singh (also District Magistrate and Collector of Dhalai District) and other intelligence inputs.

Welcoming the EC decision, all the parties announced resuming their campaign and continuing till April 21.
