AGARTALA, April 17 (TIWN): CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury as his first reaction to the decision of Election Commission of India (ECI) for postponing April 18’s to April 23rd said that this decision has made sure and approved the fact how has been the law and order condition under Biplab Deb in last 13 months. MP Jitendra Chaudhury also said that it has added a black chapter in Tripura’s history where election had to be postponed due to law and order situation. “The Chief Minister should not delay anymore and right now must resign. If Biplab Deb has any shame, self-respect and respect for democracy, he must resign immediately. If he doesn’t do it, BJP led by Modi should dismiss Biplab Deb”, said the MP. “Since 13 months murders of democracy held each day under Chief Minister Biplab Deb misusing the Govt machinery and corrupt police officials like Rajiv Singh. From party office bulldozing to day-night attacks on opposition, not allowing opposition to continue party works, forcefully occupying Panchayat, Municipal posts continued under BJP’s naked appearance”, Jitendra Chaudhury said.

He further welcomed ECI’s decision of increasing security and removing Add DGP from Law and Order who paralyzed the whole central force during election to allow BJP goons to continue election rigging.

“I talked to few central forces personnel. They didn’t expect that after coming in Tripura for election duty such kind of pressure will come to them and expressed sorrows for the people of Tripura”, said MP Jitendra Chaudhury.

“Not only Rajiv Singh, few more black-sheep are there in the administration. Election Commission also take action against them”, he added.

He thanked honest officers who sent footages to the Election Commission and seeing them, Election Commission was shocked.

Polling to Tripura East parliamentary constituency, slated for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 18, has been deferred to April 23rd.

EC Under Secretary Santosh Kumar Dubey in a letter to the CEO, said the Commission has directed to re-publish a notification about the deferment of the election.
