Santirbazar, Oct 13 (TIWN): Even as corruption and inflation have made life difficult for common man, state is facing petrol shortage in most of the petrol pumps. Government`s decision to end crisis is still pending and no active steps are taken yet for full availability of petrol. Already few incidents are taken place from Santirbazar, Sonamura and Agartala petrol pumps. Owing to acute shortage of petrol at the petrol pumps at Santirbazar, agitated people put up road blockade at Agartala Sabroom NH44 road. People raised their voice in protest against harassment in long queue for petrol.

Road blockade continued for hours thus hampered movement of vehicular traffic to and from Santirbazar town. After about 1 hour road blockade,  police reached  at the spot of the blockade and dispersed crowd. In the afternoon yesterday, one petrol tanker reached at Santirbazar with fuel and distributed fuel of Rs. 200 for each bike, Rs.300 for auto and Rs. 500 for vehicles.

Apart frpm Petrol, Santirbazar is facing acute LPG crisis as LPG cylinder supplies to nearly half the usual bulk, official  sources said. Santirbazar is running under at least 45-50 days LPG supplies backlog. Pressure on the LPG distribution agencies is on the rise, the source said.
