UDAIPUR, April 8 (TIWN): In a shocking disregard to Tripura Sundari Temple’s ancient ritual of keeping Temple main door closed from 1.30 to 3pm daily for Goddess Tripura Sundari’s rest was defied none other than Narendra Modi. Prime Minister entered temple at 2.20pm and main door was kept open for which Biplab Deb’s BJP Govt & District Administration’s utter disregard reflected against millions of devotees sentiments and 518 years ancient traditions. Goddess Tripura Sundari’s main 2 doors ( front & side) are closed from 1.30 to 3pm daily for Maa Tripura Sundari’s rest as per Hindu religious rituals but on Sunday, breaking ancient rituals, Goddess Tripura Sundari’s main doors were kept open from 1.30 to 3pm for Prime Minister’s visit. Modi & Tripura BJP Govt’s utter disregard of ancient Temple tradition evoked condemnation from Devotees. Lok Sabha Election campaign bound BJP’s misuse of Tripura’s most revered Hindu Pilgrimage site raised questions on BJP’s disrespect of Hindu sentiments.

Apart from breaking Temple’s 518 years ancient ritual, Modi’s SPG security guards were seen wielding handheld guns on both door entrances which also goes against the public sentiments of guns presence in a revered Temple.

Since 518 years, it’s tradition that at 1.30 pm Goddess Tripura Sundari is offered ‘Bhog’ and till 3 pm she takes rest and the temple door is kept closed. On that time various rituals outside the temple go on. Breaking 518 years rule, Modi reached at 2.30 pm and thus the temple was opened in odd time.

Now question is Tripura’s 518 years Temple Tradition is important to preserve or to accommodate a Politician’s busy schedule who is a PM ?

Tripura Sundari Temple is one of 51 Sakti Peeths and revered by devotees from India to foreign countries.

BJP’s misuse of Hindu Temples for votebank Politics are common across India as BJP under Modi failed to fulfill a single pre-election promise made before 2014 Lok Sabha Election.

Matabari Tripura Sundari Temple history (source: Wikipedia)

Legend has it that Tripura King Dhanya Manikya, who ruled over Tripura in the closing years of the 15th century, had a revelation one night in a dream in which Goddess Tripura Sundari instructed him to initiate her worship on the hilltop near the town of Udaipur, the contemporary capital of the kingdom. The king found out that a temple on the hillock was already dedicated to Lord Vishnu. He was in a dilemma, unable to decide how a temple dedicated to Vishnu could have an idol of Shakti. The following night, the divine vision was repeated. The king understood that Vishnu and Shakti were different forms of the same Supreme Deity (Brahman). Thus, the temple of Tripura Sundari came into being around the year 1501 AD. In the dawn of this century, the temple has crossed over 500 years. This legend is recounted as an example of solidarity between two sub-groups of Hinduism: the Vaishnava and the Shakta sects.

Modi’s JUMLA Politics from unveiling King Bir Bikram’s statue to publicizing Tripura Sundari Temple visit by breaking 518 years tradition may not transform into votes as Tripura voters support went against BJP and Lok Sabha Election loss is imminent.
