UDAIPUR, October 12 (TIWN): Director General of Police (In-Charge) K Nagraj visited MataBari on Sunday ahead of Diwali . The DGP supervised the Diwali Fair complex as well as temple complex to have an idea about the security arrangements to be made during Diwali, popularly known as the Kumbha of the North East. IC DGP K Magaraj arrived MataBari at around 11.30am and spent one hour there. He was accompanied by DIG Southern Range Uttam Majumder,IPS . At first the DGP worshipped the Goddess Tripura Sundari and then took a close look of the proposed fair complex. SDPO Udaipur Ratan Das was with him. At 12.30pm DGP left for Agartala. Speaking to TIWN on Sunday night SDPO Ratan Das said," Ahead of DGP this is the first official visit of a top level police official. However, today no meeting was held between the DGP and other police officials."
Meanwhile, in order to give MataBari a new look construction work has already started . The masonry are now busy in installing tiles and marvels on the VIP staircase (in Southern side of the temple) and the one that leads towards Kalyan Sugar. Stalls will be built by different department on the east bank of Kalyan Sagar. And commercial stalls will be opened on the west and south bank as well as in available places outside Tripura Sunvdari temple complex. The places for commercial stalls will be distributed through lottery system.
Before leaving Udaipur IC DGP and DIG Southern Range held a meeting with DM Gomati in Police. IC DGP, DIG, SDPO Udaipur is learnt to have attended the meeting. The meeting was a for.a discussion in the build up to the Diwali festival, said a TIWN source
