AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): CPI-M’s two top leaders were beaten severely during a public rally in Tripura by BJP miscreants.Briefing the deadly attack on CPI-M leaders, CPI-M State General Secretary Gautam Das said, “Today afternoon in East Tripura reserved ST seat, Gandachara subdivision’s Taichakma area a rally of CPI-M MP candidate Jitendra Chaudhury was going on. The rally was pre-schedule attended by CPI-M top leaders Parikshit Murasing and Santosh Chakma who have been attacked by BJP hooligansâ€.“As soon as the meeting was started, from Taichakma BJP Party office around 50 hooligans came in the spot and attacked our leaders and activists. In this attack Parikshit Murasingh and Santosh Chakma were injuredâ€.“Parikshit Murasing’s vehicle which was used for campaigning was broken by the miscreants and the chair-table, mike all were vandalized. Maximum participants of the rally were women. They were so much afraid that started to run here and thereâ€, said Gautam Das.“After Taidu, this was the second brutal attack. We are telling the Election Commission that oppositions are unable to continue their campaigning and facing severe attacks. When CM himself has threatened openly that he would teach lesson to opposition, it's expected ?", said Das.
"It is proof that police did nit take their action. We again appeal the Election Commission to save the democracy”, Gautam Das said.
In another attack at Sonamura’s Hridoya area Congress rally was attacked. CPI-M has condemned both incident.
