AGARTALA, April 5 (TIWN): BJP-IPFT’s barbaric attack took place on MP Jitendra Choudhury at Taidu on Friday, which was caught in a live telecast in CPI-M’s facebook page. The footage shows that when the MP was speaking to a mass gathering, suddenly a group of miscreants rushed to the spot and started beating the CPI-M activists at there. The MP was heard saying not to launch any violence by "our people" (CPI-M). Strict warning from Jitendra Choudhury was given who did not stop speaking even during the attack was asking CPI-M activists to control the situation peacefully. Police and CPI-M activists jointly controlled the situation. Few have been injured in that violent attack, whereas fingers have raised against IPFT behind the violence. Condemning the incident, CPI-M State General Secretary Gautam Das said, “IPFT’s trend is violent. Before the election, they confused a section of people with Tipraland issue. Now they are seeing that their slogan of Tipraland is going to vanish and their party is collapsing and thus attacking on CPI-Mâ€.
Addressing media, Gautam Das said, “IPFT and BJP today launched two separate attacks. Today at around 11.45 am, CPI-M Mandai office was attacked by BJP and many CPI-M supporters were injured. This incident was led by Badal Debbarma, a miscreant of IPFT”.
“The second incident is too dangerous when MP Jitendra Choudhury was attacked by IPFT miscreants. Many of our supporters, leaders were attacked in the incident. CPI-M has complained to Election Commission and Police”, said Gautam Das.
Das added, “On yesterday afternoon in Patichari when CPI-M activists were posting their banners, they were stopped and centering the issue, a clash was erupted. Instead of accepting guilt, now BJP is propagating that ADC executive member Parikshit Murasing has launched the massive violence”.
“Just now we were informed that at Muhuripur (Belonia) our leader Babul Dutta who is ill, was attacked. The miscreants entered his home and attacked. We have complained the issue to police. BJP and IPFT both have realized that they are going to be defeated in the election and thus again and again breaking model-code-of-conduct”, said Gautam Das.
