Agartala, Oct 12 (TIWN): The Tripura Government is taking different initiatives to ensure water-closet in every habitation by 2017, said Tripura Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation- Ratan Bhowmik in a review meeting at District Magistrate’s (DM) office at Dhalai District in Tripura. To make this grand mission successful, he appealed for cooperation to all the public leaders, officers of various departments including people of all classes.
In the meeting, MLA Lalit Kumar Debbarma, MLA Nirajay Tripura, the Chief Engineer of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department- Bishu Debbarma discussed about the overall development of Dhalai district and the importance of Nirmal Bharat Abbhiyan mission.
While addressing the meeting, District Magistrate (DM) of Dhalai district- Dr. Milind Ramteke informed that ongoing work for a total of 1700 water closets in the tribal areas of Dhalai district will be finished byOctober 31. Altogether 10,000 water closets are likely to be constructed in Dhalai district in the current financial year, said Ramteke.
As part of the ‘Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan’ introduced by central government, several state, district, block, village level prorammes will be continued till October 23, which were started on September 25, this year, he said. The state level programme on Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan will be staged at Chailengta HS School on October 22.
