Agartala, Oct 11 (TIWN): To mark the observance of World Veterans Day, a seminar and a cultural programme would be staged at Rabindra Satavarshiki Bhavan on October 15.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will grace the dais as chief guest while the function will be presided over by the Social Welfare and Social Education Minister- Bijita Nath. Besides, the Chief Secretary- G.K. Rao the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation- Dr Prafullajit Sinha, the chairperson of Tripura Commission for Women- Purnima Roy and the Secretary of Social Welfare and Social Education Department- m Nagarju will remain present in the ceremony.

On the other hand, the World Veterans Day will be observed at Sonamura sub-division too throughout different events. To mark the celebration of the day, a preparatory meeting was held at the Nagar Panchayat community hall, yesterday. The meeting was presided over by the chairperson of Nagar Panchayat- Narayan Chakraborty. The programme will be organized by the joint initiatives of Nagar Panchayat and Social Welfare and Social Education Department.

The vice-chairperson of Nagar Panchayat- Abu Taher, members of 9 different wards including other officers from concerned department will remain present in the function.
