AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): Replying a media query on Lok Sabha Election related opposition alliance’s future in Tripura, CPI-M State General Secretary Gautam Das said, “Traditionally CPI-M is more powerful in Tripura. Not only Congress, indeed we invited all non-BJP and democratic parties, persons to give us supportâ€.
“I never said, Congress should not give candidates in upcoming Lok Sabha Election, neither I mentioned any particular party’s name. But we (CPI-M) already having two sitting MPs. In this condition, we want that the anti-BJP votebanks should not be divided”, said Gautam Das.
MP Jitendra Chaudhry clarified the issue that at Centre, after winning Election, CPI-M is not going to support BJP to form a Govt as in last 5 years BJP has come out as the most undemocratic Govt of last 70 years. So, CPI-M doesn’t want the anti-BJP vote bank’s division in Tripura.
