AGARTALA, Feb 24 (TIWN): Highly popular, ‘Akash Tripura’ TV channel is running out of access for the viewers since above 48 hours, erupted tension among the employees and the authority of the channel. At the same time, huge resentment have erupted among the common men, as under BJP Govt everyday attacks on democratic media houses are going on in the state openly. Since Friday night, this channel is cut from the cable connectivity and no viewer is able to see the channel for last 2 days. The actual cause of the inaccessibility is unknown, but taken as a threat from ruling Govt for making news against Govt. Till yesterday night the channel was unreachable to the common men, whereas today’s report yet to come. Even after complaining to the cable operate “Sristi Cable” again and again, nothing they could do till now.The TV channel authority is checking the matter. Earlier, "Sristi Cable" had shutdown Channel-Din-Raat, Mrinalini for broadcasting news by exposing BJP’s corruption, whereas another channel Mrinalini also filed a writ petition in High Court, later in dramatic way the channel authority withdrawn the petition. There are similar attacks on other TV channels and they just simply can do "no" news against the Govt even though they have materials, whereas in Left Govt’s era the cable operator was much liberal.

Already attacks on media in mafia-style by BJP Govt in Tripura is an open-secret now.

The Govt is too arrogant to cut any connectivity under its possible access, even though in the court of law their faces have been smashed always and will be smashing more in coming days.

In case of Tripurainfoway.com (TIWN) for readers information it's mentioned here that TIWN related people, journalists, photographers including Editor's parents came under severe attack of Bilab Deb as he sent his police officers to harass them above 20 times. There are cases going on against police's illegal activity in High Court and more are ahead. The Govt is too shameless that not only tapped the personal phones of the journalists but also through police illegally certifying TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar as a criminal sent a police report to the domain of TIWN to shutdown it. When the domain, after verifying didn't shutdown TIWN, then at Centre, convincing the Govt from Delhi the access of Tripurainfoway.com was cut. There are other sites and VPN helping readers to access Tripurainfoway. Even though the legal battle is on way, but this is the simple example how Modi Govt has been brutal against media and writers.
