‘Law and Order will be in total control during Lok Sabha Election’ : EC

AGARATALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sriram Taranikant while addressing media on Lok Sabha election related training programme ensured that law and order will be taken care during Lok Sabha Election.

The reply came from Taranikant after media asked him on certain points about the poll rigging in last two local body elections and increasing crime rates in Tripura in compare to the last year.

Ensuring security factors, he added, “Securities will be trained time to time”.

“On 23rd and 24th there will be special camps in all polling stations with booth level officers and if any missed out voters are there or any correction is needed they can do the necessary corrections. We have also informed the political parties to participate in the campaigning”, Taranikat added.

“One voter helpline will be there to help the voters for any kind of information. By dialing1950 the District authority will help the voter for the information”, the CEO told media.

He also said that the VVPATs were sent at Hyderabad to avoid any disturbance during election.

For West Tripura’s returning officer will be DM East Tripura, whereas for East Tripura District, Dhalai DM has been appointed.
