‘Previous Govt couldn’t utilize Rs. 1700 crores from biometric project of ONGC’, alleges Sudip Barman

AGARTALA, Feb 15 (TIWN): Tripura Health, Environment Minister Sudip Barman has blamed the previous Govt for being failed to utilize 1700 crores for state’s welfare came from biometric project of ONGC.

Barman said this while signing an agreement between ONGC Tripura Asset & Directorate of Biotechnology.Govt .of Tripura for Bio - Village project at Amtali under charilam block & Echamuah under ward no 10 of AMC .

Biotechnology is a project to use environmental products without using the chemical products and to strengthen the rural economy.

Out of the biometric project, the ONGC always expenses 2% of the profit for Tripura’s welfare. But in the past year, Rs. 1700 crores of fund which was to be expended for Tripura’s development by CSF it couldn’t be done, may be due to the previous Govt’s negligence.

Slamming the previous Govt further, Sudip Barman said that it could not understand the matter and out of negligence that huge amount wasn’t utilized but if could be utilized then it could bring revolution in the rural economy.
