AGARTALA, Feb 6 (TIWN): Tripurainfoway.com (TIWN) Editor Saumen Sarkar while addressing from USA questioned on the double-standard of BJP with Royal family. He also claimed that any sedition charge against the leaders including Pradyot Manikya which was brought fabricated would not workout in court. “Anybody is talking against the BJP Govt, they are being put under sedition charges. On the one side, they are inaugurating King Bir Bikram Manikya’s statue but here filing FIR against the Royal scion Pradyot Manikya ? At Airport Modi will inaugurate Bir Bikram’s statue and at Jirania-Madhabbari they fired on his statue”. The Editor also said that this Citizenship Bill will heavily effect Northeast demography and thus the protests were done against the proposed the bill is 100% valid. After FIR was lodged against four leaders of Tripura including Royal scion Pradyot Manikya, IPFT Tipraha leader Aghore Debbarma has termed it an illegal FIR as they never raised any slogan favouring other countries.

The FIR was done by police alleging that during a rally held on January 30 against Citizenship Bill, the Tiprasa people raised slogan of “Hello China, Goodbye India”. Being asked by media regarding the charges, Aghore Debbarma said, out of miles-long agitators if anybody raised such slogan it’s not his fault, but police have to show whereas any slogan was raised by the leaders against whom the FIR was lodged. Moreover, Aghore Debbarma said, “I didn’t hear any such slogan raised by our people”.

The issue was raised, after Police filed a sedition case against four leaders including Tripura’s Royal Scion Pradyot Manikya. The other three leaders are : 1) INPT General Secretary Jagadish Debbarma, 2) Borok People Human Rights Organization leader Antony Debbarma, 3) Tipraha (IPFT) leader Aghore Debbarma. Aghore Debbarma further said, as BJP-IPFT Govt has failed fulfil a single promise thus now indulged to stop public and to move the issue in other directions.

“The rally was massive. The aim of the FIR is totally illegal because on that day in the middle of huge rally if anybody raised such slogan they have to prove it. I didn’t hear any such slogan and question doesn’t arise that I would raise such slogans”, he said.

“China is a Communist country and we don’t support China. There is no democracy in China. So, such slogan I can never imagine. But the slogan which I didn’t raise, how come they file an FIR against me?”, he said.

Tiprasa leaders sought evidence of their involvement in raising ‘Hello China’ slogan in Citizenship Amendment Bill agitation protest on January 30.
