Agartala, October 5 (TIWN): Just after the ending of the five-day long Durga Puja all the citizens of the city had a tough time due to crisis of petrol with most of the pumps shut down while others mentioned a shortfall.
Sunday was the third consecutive day when people were seen waiting for refilling their vehicle tanks. While most of the pumps supplied fuel in short, other few ones were open for the whole day facing huge crowd of vehicles.
None of the fuel suppliers came on record to comment but indicated that it was due Durga Puja and some excused saying there was no supply. However, people had to switch from one pump to another for refilling.
It is expected that one petrol tanker will arrive in the state on Monday, said a fuel supplier of the city. Almost all the petrol pumps are short of fuel, running low stocks.
The supplier further mentioned that the condition of the National Highway 44 is not good which is also a reason for the crisis of petrol in the city.
