‘Manik Sarkar shown much more maturity during 11 days long IPFT’s road blockade, BJP wanted tension’ : Pradyot Manikya blasts BJP’s Evil Plan

AGARTALA, Jan 16 (TIWN): For the first ever time, Tripura Congress leader, Manikya dynasty inheritor has come with praising of the then Chief Minister Manik Sarkar for showing maturity during IPFT led road blockade on national highway for long 11 days in the year 2017. Pradyot was venturing frustration on the IPFT led aligned Govt with BJP led by two Ministers NC Debbarma and Mebar Jamatia who are yet silent on Jirania violence led by ruling party, fueled by police brutality when he said so. Pradyot said, “During 11 days road blockade the situation turned very tensed with the increasing tension at National Highway. On that time Governor (Tathagata Roy) wanted lathi charge by Manik Sarkar police, Home Minister (Kiren Rijiju) wanted lathi charge on IPFT and worse situation, but Kiren Rijuju declined to meet the IPFT leaders. I never wanted a riot between tribals and Bengalis, but the Home Minister said from Agartala (Tripura) he was instructed not to meet IPFT. Because BJP wanted bad situation, but I asked the Home Minister is he the Home Minister of BJP or India ? I made the meeting between Mebar Jamatia and Home Minister possible, but I didn’t do that as a Congress leader, but I did that as I didn’t want any communal disruption”.

The road blockade was begun with the demand of a separate land Tipraland since July 10 morning and denied to withdraw the strike unless state is separated. As a part of agitation IPFT everyday burnt tires, raised slogan of ‘No Tipraland, No Rest’ and on Wednesday IPFT also held a naked rally & this is the 6th day of their blockade.

On that time addressing a press conference, Tripura BJP Observer Sunil Deodhar said in the evening, "If IPFT's blockade is not withdrawn within next 48 hours, then BJP will block Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's movements". "We are extremely unhappy, angry with the blockade created a collapsing condition of transport, health, education in Tripura. Even today when Indigenous people were celebrating Ker Puja, the IPFT didn't allow its own people to enjoy the ceremony. What kind of Indigenous people's leader they are?"

But now, Pradyot Manikya has expoxed, BJP’s intrigue with IPFT led national highway.

Manikya has first ever slammed IPFT leaders of the state holding Ministry, came with fake promises of Tipraland and now silent on failure of Home Ministry led by Biplab Deb Govt. Pradyot Manikya raised question, whereas everything is clear who were behind Jirania incident, still IPFT being in alliance with BJP is silent against Govt’s silent to the demand of Judicial investigation, whereas Magisterial investigation is for namesake. All political parties including BJP’s ally IPFT have demanded Judicial inquiry in Jirania Police violence of January 8, 2019 but Govt has however ordered Magisterial inquiry in the case. Even after two viral videos which proves that only police and ruling party supporters led the whole violence, Biplab Deb led Govt has not ordered Judicial investigation. Magisterial investigation has been said even by common men as means of “Eye Wash”.
