Madhabbari, JIRANIA (Tripura), Jan 9 (TIWN): Biplab Deb's 10 months misrule turned Tripura into emergency like situation where SP West Ajit Pratap type corrupt Police fired yesterday on Tribal youths with the sole intention of killing, 1 is under life support, 5 seriously injured undergoing treatment. National Highway busy routes of Jirania now turned empty, less crowded and section 144 has been continuing across the West District’s sensitive zones after Tuesday’s violence. Huge numbers of police personnel have been deployed on spot, checking each vehicle and person crossing through the route. This unwanted situation was erupted since yesterday after police firing injured 6 Tiprasa students at there who were agitating against Citizenship Bill as a part of Northeast-wide protest called by NESO. When the youths were staging demonstrations on National Highway, allegedly BJP picketers rushed to the spot led a clash. Police thrown tear gas and without announcement started firing led by SP West Ajit Pratap Singh.

The SP himself is seen today present on spot whereas no action has been taken against Singh yet, rather FIR was lodged against 3 persons with allegations of peace-disruptions during strike. Internet service remained shutdown across Tripura and to be continued till tomorrow at least. 

On yesterday’s incident 6 youths were injured in police shooting, whereas 1 is critical and sent outside the state for better treatment.

From Home Dept no statement has been given yet on this incident and Chief Minister Biplab Deb avoided to visit GB hospital to meet victims.

Statewide demand raised for suspension of SP West and Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s resignation from Home Ministry as well as Chief Minister’s post.

On yesterday after the incident INPT, IPFT, IPFT (Tipraha), CPI-M leaders and BJP Minister Sudip Barman visited GB hospital to meet the victims. Former CM Manik Sarkar had demanded Govt’s clarification in this issue.

Today by a press conference IPFT Tipraha has demanded proper investigation in this case and also criticized the Govt for ordering this brutal move of police.

6 youths were injured at Madhabbari in Jirania on Tuesday, 2 serious after SP West Ajit Pratap Singh led sudden firing order following little clash occurred at there during protest against Citizenship Bill. All of the injured youths are supporters of IPFT (Tipraha) and few from NESO. Talking to the victim party, they said that during a road blockade in peaceful movement, two teams came face to face but suddenly police started firing but for that police neither announced anything in prior led the brutal incident.

It was SP West Ajit Pratap Singh who is allegedly the main behind the unannounced firing, but so far no neutral investigation has been done yet as the SP himself is monitoring the spot.A major section of people have also demanded President’s rule, specially from the victim side.
