AGARTALA, Jan 1 (TIWN): CPI-M party office at Rajnagar in Belonia, South Tripura was vandalized, looted and idols, pictures of country and world were broken, left on ground and all infrastructure inside the party office was left damaged. At the same time CPI-M veteran leader, Ex-West Bengal CM Jyoti Basu, Father of Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar, Universal social revolutionary Lenin’s statues, pictures were broken. Vising the party office, CPI-M MLA Sudhan Das said, “This is year’s beginning. People exchange love and greetings on that day, but BJP started the with such violence”. “Today 1st January, 2019. In morning 7 am I was informed our Rajnagar party office was vandalized and damaged totally on yesterday night. This is the 3rd attack in this office, before this, on April 30th and then on May 2nd, this office was set on fire, looted and vandalized. The BJP activists till latenight celebrated new year".

"They put flag in front of our party office, the foundation symbol was removed, lenin’s statue was covered with new coats, same was done with Jyoti Basu’s idol. On new year instead of exchanging love, BJP left symbol of destruction. 2019 year has started with a brutal beginning. I condemn it”.

“I don’t know how BJP top layers will react on that. Such brutality how far people here can tolerate ? Before that across markets also people were beaten in Rajnagar, when workless condition has gripped the state. In such an anarchy, I call common men to come forward to rescue democracy”, said Sudhan Das.

However, this is the condition under BJP Govt since 10 months where a single night could not go without BJP sponsored violence and thus the new year’s first day too remained same.

Till now BJP has not condemned its party led attacks, assaults on Ex-Minister Bhanulal Saha, General Secretary of CPI-M Gautam Das.

Even though statewide, nationwide condemnation against BJP’s attack upon senior citizens started, but State BJP leadership is reluctant to condemn.

After CPI-M senior leaders Bhanulal Saha, Gautam Das and many more were attacked, now a 75 years old woman was stone pelted and left with severe injuries. She was badly wounded and hospitalized.In front of police BJP supporters were organizing such type of heinous act. But so far none was arrested who are behind the case.   

When Gautam Das and MLA Ratan Bhowmik were returning from Udaipur to Agartala, at Bishalgarh a vehicle rushed before their vehicle and few BJP miscreants stopping the vehicle attempted to pull Gautam and by grabbing his muffler they stretched him to come out of the vehicle, due to driver’s immediate action the vehicle could came out of the attacking BJP goons who attempted to hit Gautam Das physically. Immediately Gautam Das from the vehicle called DGP A K Shukla and other officials, but so far no action was taken.
