AGARTALA, Dec 30 (TIWN): Supporting Central trade union (CITUs) called two days nationwide general strike on January 8 and 9, 2019, Tripura CPI-M has started statewide propaganda, urging common men to join the strike and succeed the strike in protest of what they call the pro- corporate, anti-national and anti-people policies of the BJP-led NDA government.
Tripura CPI-M fully supporting the strike has called for a peaceful observation of the strike, whereas the ruling BJP in Tripura has already opposed the strike and likely to force vehicle movement.
The protest is scheduled to have against privatization, corporate centric governance of the BJP Govt at Centre and State.
“In order to serve the interests of the multinational companies with Indian corporate, the present government is pursuing blatantly anti-people, anti-workers and anti-national policies at the cost of severely damaging the national economy and destroying its indigenous productive and manufacturing capabilities. Such a regime must be defeated squarely to force the pro-people changes in policies on all fronts,” the CTUs said on the background of the strike.
