AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): Puppet role of Tripura Police has hit the law and order of the state across and in the West District under inefficient SP Ajit Pratap Singh who is also accused of harassing media persons and sending fake informations to media domain, law and order situation is under peril. Ahead of Municipal Election, with the increasing attacks upon CPI-M activists, CPI-M led by leader Pabitra Kar placed a deputation to SP West Ajit Pratap Singh, it was said, “This is to draw your kind attention to the following that a section of BJP workers has intensified attacks on the Left Front candidates, leaders and activists on the eve of upcoming Municipal By-Election. After raiding houses, they have been constantly threatening the Left Front supporters either to leave the house before the poll with family members or not to case votes. Otherwise have to face dire consequences”.CPI-M further alleged, “Those hoodlums have threatened the polling agents of the Left Front candidates as well, so that they don’t act as polling agents of the Left front candidates in the polling booths. Meanwhile everywhere our candidates have faced different types of attacks during door to door campaigning. Some of our activists have been injured also. The goons are trying to make the by-poll a farce”.

CPI-M further requested SP West to control the deteriorating situation across the Districts. In other Districts also CPI-M has sought police’s help.

Continuous attacks on the opposition parties have been continuing in Tripura, whereas one more CPI-M leader was attacked along with his wife. At Belonia today around 11 am, CPI-M’s farmer wing leader Bhuban Pal and his wife were attacked when they were going somewhere from the house. Since 11 December, after BJP lost in 3 states massive attacks took place on the oppositions and on December 12, Chief Minister Biplab Deb had almost locked all police officials in a conference room and that whole night violence continued. Many fabricated cases against oppositions were filed, they were arrested, but till day law and order has left unstable.

Tripura Municipal election is going to be held on December 27.
