AGARTALA, Dec 13 (TIWN): BJP Govt has developed a new trend of arresting the victims of BJP’s violence. As predicted by TIWN, Tripura Congress leader Ratan Das was arrested with fabricated charges under BJP MLA Ram Prasad Pal’s interference after Ratan Das’s family was attacked by Ram Prasad Pal’s brother Mana Pal and an FIR was lodged. Congress has condemned the move of State Govt by pressuring police for illegal arrest.

Ram Prasad Pal called Chief Minister Biplab Deb on yesterday to order police for arresting the Congress leader.

Addressing media, Congress State President Birjit Sinha said, “In the last Assembly Election in five states, Congress acquired a lead position. This result is further leading a BJP-free wave across nation as well as in Tripura”.

“After the election results massive violence started statewide. In Suryamaninagar area and in many other places our workers were enjoying, celebrating, burnt fire crackers. In reaction our activists faced heavy attacks by state ruling BJP and our leader Ratan Das’s house was severely attacked. His car was broken and to kill him, the BJP searched for him allover. When we filed FIR against the miscreants police instead of arresting them, arrested Ratan Das and he later came out in bail from the court, whereas on behalf of Ratan Das the case which was lodged, left without police’s action”, said Birjit Sinha.

The Congress State President further mentioned about the continuous attacks in Congress Bhawans. At least four party offices were broken, vandalized and four senior leaders were injured. He alleged that in front of police that kind of violence took place.

“Across the State, Congress activists are being attacked by BJP. In Udaipur also our leader Santi Karmakar’s house was attacked”, he added.

Sinha further said, BJP is doing such violence and attacks upon Congress out of fear.

“On December 22 the Municipal election was to be held and without asking any opposition it was delayed on December 27. We urge for peaceful election again. Before Charilam violence on result out day, Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma was present”, Sinha said.

Taking a dig at Govt’s pressure on police for illegal works, Sinha said, police also resented on the State Govt for forcing them to arrest Ratan Das who himself was attacked, afraid was arrested with such fabricated charges of violence.

“Charges against Ratan Das is baseless. He was never indulged in any violence, rather he himself was attacked and now afraid, but Govt pressurized Ratan Das for arrest”, he said.

TIWN on yesterday published a news how Ratan Das was victimized by BJP MLA Ram Prasad Pal’s masterplan of arresting him, after Congress accused Ram Prasad’s brother Mana Pal for the violence.

Congress said, we demand justice from the common men and let them (common men) decide.

Another Bimal Debbarma on yesterday was similarly arrested when Bimal Debbarma was beaten by BJP goons after he burnt fire crackers on BJP’s defeat.
