AGARTALA, Dec 9 (TIWN): Northeast Tripura has been experiencing the highest ever manipulation of media’s independent role, power hunger, hugging of few media-men with Chief Minister Biplab Deb and other party leaders, which directly exposed BJP’s nexus with media persons in recent days, confused common men, questioned on media's reliability. Before the election maximum media houses helped the BJP to come in power to unseat 25 years long ruling CPI-M as it promised to cause massive "fund flow" for Tripura with Central Govt's help for development. But after the election media-rigging went at worst level by the ruling Govt ended by some defective outcomes in the state media world, from illegal entry of outsiders in the Press Club to shutdown of various media houses in Tripura. 2018 election experienced violence at maximum level, killing of two journalists led a massive Anti-Govt sentiment fueled on that time amid the then CPI-M Govt’s immediate action against killers of journalists. Such killing of journalists in political clashes and personal enmities was however never experienced in the previous elections held in the state for decades. But BJP after assuming power, started an open war against various media houses and by force had closed various channels as ‘Channel Din Rat’, ‘Mrinalini ENN’ and till day continues pressures upon other media houses. 40 years old newspaper Daily-Desher-Katha was closed by force in total illegal manner by West District DM and after High Court verdict the newspaper restarted its publication. Since Hallbol news channel broadcasted the issue and raised TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar’s voice before public, BJP Govt was rattled with the exposer. Many newspaper editors have thanked Sarkar for raising voice against suppression, who are now under BJP Govt "Pressure Cooker". 

But before that even after multiple requests, Police mechanism kept on harassing TIWN staffs, day-night spying over TIWN Agartala journalists, their phones were trapped illegally and along with BJP leaders police at last entered one journalists house, harassed the family members, old mother. Photographers were called in the East Agartala police station, threatened and under 160 section (witness) police began calling journalists day night to meet them.
