AGARTALA, Dec 2 (TIWN): With a connectivity boon, ahead of Lok-Sabha Election, South Tripura has announced to be connected with Railway as the safety inspection from Santir Bazar to Belonia on Sunday was claimed as “successful”. Inspection for Railway Safety from Santir Bazar to Belonia has remained successful after the first trial, with some minor changes have been suggested by Safety Inspector Sailesh Kumar Pathak. After the safety inspection was done on Sunday, Pathak told media here in Agartala, “Today I have done the inspection of the rail-line from Santir Bazar to Belonia covering 9.8 km section, which is a single line section, having 39 bridges, 24 minor bridges 1 major bridge and 4 ROB and there are 10 RUBs (Road Under Bridges). The foremost requirement of safety is there should not be any level crossing either on the existing line or the new line commissioned. Thus, according to the Indian Railway Policy we have eliminated all level-crossing and we have replaced by great separators i.e. Road-under-Bridges as well as limited height sub-ways.

The signaling in both the stations have been of “B” class that is fit for 110 KM/PH”. “As far as quality is concerned it is top-class and also in speed capacity it’s sufficient and I am extremely satisfied with the inspection and marked the work as outstanding by NFR. From safety issue there is no problem at all, however few minor changes I have suggested”, Pathak added.

Based on today’s report the railway service will be started soon. Noteworthy, the passenger train with 16 bogies which arrived at Belonia railway station as a part of a trail run.
