AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): CPI-M's youths wings SFI, TSU, DYFI, TYF organized a protest rally on Friday at Agartala voicing against the ongoing flight service's paralyzed condition.

A memorandum was sent to Union Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu to look into the serious issue as state's people are unable to bear the flight fare costs and tackle with the ongoing ticket crisis. The memorandum was given to MP Shankar Prasad Datta for delivery to the Central Minister.

Not only flight tickets are at crisis but one after flights are quitting Tripura, but Govt has no intention to reduce the VAT. Many states have reduced ATF taxes following the call of the Central Govt.

Union Civil Aviation Secretary RN Choubey however on Thursday called upon States to bring down VAT on aviation turbine fuel.

Tickets for Delhi-Agartala, Agartala-Kolkata, Kolkata-Agartala are offering mounting charges to the travelers.

This costly flight fares were never experienced in last many years, but with numbers of quitting flights the cost is turning unbearable for common men.

At the same time unavailability of tickets are leading heavy sufferings for the patients parties who are unable to travel other states for treatment. Apart from that issue, if any ticket is available then its price is skyrocketing. Air India Tickets (if luckily anybody gets) it costs Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 16,000.

Overall, Airway passengers are reeling under same miseries. This situation has been worsen due to Indigo morning flights departure and SpiceJet's unavailability.

With the numbers of decreasing flights in Agartala Airport, crisis of ticket amid skyrocketing price have gripped the airway transport.

After state had undergone a shock with SpiceJet service's closing, the most crowded Agartala-Kolkata, Kolkata-Agartala morning flights of Indigo had also stopped service from Oct 21.
