AGARTALA, September 27 (TIWN): Landslide near Baramura Tunnel affected the railway communication. Train services were stalled in the Agartala-Lumding route after heavy downpour triggered massive landslides at Baramura. Trains were stopped at different points.

Moreover the railway communication is going to be disrupted from tomorrow due to the setting up of broad-gage track. “It will take time to resume railway communication”- informed railway sources.

Railway sources informed today that about 100 miles away from Baramura Tunnel, a landslide occured. Due to which massive layer of soil covered the railway track. However, 65 workers were deployed to the location to restore the seven foot railway route. All the passenger and cargo trains are stopped on both side of the tunnel.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier Landslides in Longtarai Valley disrupted rail link in Tripura. “The traffic completely disrupted and has less chance to improve till evening”- says Station master. Passengers were facing tough time who got stuck in the middle of nowhere. There was a long queue of the passengers in the reservation counters to get the refund.
