Maligaon, Nov 14 (TIWN): Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel of Guwahati railway station has successfully arrested a thief who stole the mobile phone of a African football player who plays for Chennai FC football team. It is learnt that footballer Lawal Mutiu Adjibola, 29 yrs, s/o Adjibola, No.3, Maggi, Atinuke, Street- Lagos, PS- Ikotun, Dist- Alimosh, West Africa was having breakfast at the Jana Aahar Restaurant located at platform No. 1 of Guwahati railway station at about 09.50 hrs on 11.11.2018. Suddenly he noticed that his mobile phone (model - Samsung J 4) valued about Rs. 9,000/- was missing. On receiving the information, CCTV footage of the Jana Aahar Restaurant was checked immediately by the RPF and the criminal was identified.
Accordingly, Head Constable / Jamal Uddin and Constable / Kamal Hussain of RPF / Guwahati Post conducted vigorous search, during which the criminal namely, Narul Ahmad, aged 36 years, s/o Ahbar Ali, resident of Bhakulipathar, PS: Juria, Dist. Nagaon, Assam was arrested from near Gate No. 2 of Guwahati railway station with recovery of the stolen mobile phone. Later on, the arrested person along with the recovered mobile was handed over to OC/GRP/Guwahati who registered a case vide No. 307/2018 U/S 380 IPC dated 11.11.2018.
rpf is also rendering assistance to Commercial staff of N.F. Railway in Ticket Checking Drive as and when asked for and during such drive conducted from 05.11.2018 to 11.11.2018; as many as 111 ticketless travellers were apprehended and fine to the tune of Rs. 41,455/- was realized from offenders. During this period, total 27 persons were also arrested by RPF for needlessly interfering with Alarm Chain and prosecuted them under section 141 Railways Act.
