AGARTALA, September 26 (TIWN): With an aim to take the uprising graph of all sorts of crime downwards, across the state, the Chief Minister has directed the Police to file Suo Moto case if no complaints are received. While speaking in a review meeting on the law and order situation across the state, at State Secretariat, here, yesterday the Chief Minister has asked the Police department to maintain a friendly and cordial relation with the common men.
To control the ongoing crimes at district level, the Chief Minister has asked the District Magistrates (DMs) and Police Supers to hold weekly review of the law and order condition. The Sub-divisional Magistrates (SDM) and Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) will also maintain a constant vigil on the ongoing developments. Furthermore, apart from asking night patrolling, the minister has asked the Inspector General (IG) level officers to remain involved in the drill.
While speaking on the state of insurgency, he said: “Though under control, but the insurgency problem is still to be eradicated and so no question of complacency arises.”As the Chief Minister stated some of the places are still being dominated by the separatists from the overgrounds. Besides, the Chief Minister has asked the authority concerned to have a close look so the underground insurgents can not procure funds so to finance terrorism in the state.
Meanwhile, to keep a check on all sorts of illegal activities across the border including infiltration Chief Minister has ordered for a strict vigil in the Indo-Bangla border area. In this regard the DMs have been directed to prepare a report on the unfenced areas along the border lines. DGP (in-charge) K.Nagraj, Chief Secretary G.K.Rao and Principal Secretary K.Rajeswar Rao were also present in the review meet.
