AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): With the numbers of decreasing flights in Agartala Airport, crisis of ticket amid skyrocketing price have gripped the airway transport. With a shocking development, for Agartala-Kolkata there is no ticket available from 26 October to 28 October. For Agartala-Guwahati no ticket is available from 26 October to 28 October leading heavy crisis situation and tension for the passengers. Emergency passengers are the biggest victim of this situation. After state had undergone a shock with SpiceJet service's closing, the most crowded Agartala-Kolkata, Kolkata-Agartala morning flights of Indigo will also stop service from Oct 21. This will not only increase the fares further but also to create problems for regular morning travelers. Already with SpiceJet's closing flight fares went high for Agartala passengers whereas with Indigo's closing of two flights will lead more costly flight fares.
Amid poor revenue for decades both SpiceJet and Indigo had served Tripura, whereas with 7 months of BJP Govt Airport is almost in paralyzed situation and Modi's H for Highways, I for I-Ways, R for Railways, A for Airways is resulting just against the expectation of public.
Right now, 180 seated Indigo 6E 139 carries passenger from Kolkata to Agartala everyday at 7 am whereas at 9 am Indigo 6E 833 leaves from Agartala for Kolkata. But with fog 'excuse', for now Indigo to stop both the flight services.
In 2019, April month there are chances that the flight service may start again for few months. Flight fares hikes are more expected as already SpiceJet service has been stopped. This is the second flight service stopped in 2 months.
Since BJP Govt came in power, flight service paralyzed in Tripura and flight fares have been increased more. However, the reason behind flights departures from state has remained unknown.
Public have expressed heavy resentment with Indigo morning flights' quitting.
